Community

A sense of community is the reason most of us got involved & some of the most satisfying aspects of what we do.

 

Closeburn Rural Fire Brigade is involved not only in the normal duties of Fire supression,Hazard Reduction,Property inspections,etc. we also run a fund raising program that allows us to support ourselves with assistance from Q.F.R.S.

 

This also means we can assist other groups & services to further benefit the community such as the Circus Quirkus.

 

Circus Quirkus is a Human performance group & via Closeburn RFB puts on a number of shows every year for disadvantaged or disabled children & their carers through the sponsorship of businesses across Queensland. As you can see from the Images it's a great day for them & very fulfilling for us! For sponsorship or show details contact us.

 

Family is also a major part of our Brigade. We are aware of the sacrifices member's families make for them to be available so we encourage family participation & socializing as often as possible.

 

Possibly the most important aspect of our work is the Community Fire Safety Awareness program. We offer advice on Personal & Property protection & What to do in a fire situation. Closeburn RFB Host regular Open Days at the Station & invite the public to meet the crew,view the equipment & importantly, ask questions to better their own knowledge.
